About Us
YYC Disability Support was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves to live with dignity, connection, and confidence — regardless of age, ability, or life circumstances.
We provide reliable, person-centered support that complements existing care services while helping individuals maintain their independence and quality of life. Whether it's companionship, transportation, community participation, or caregiver respite, we are committed to making a positive difference every day.
Phillip believes that dignity is a basic human need; it’s our sense of self-worth, respect and esteem. Preserving dignity in another person means respecting their whole self in a manner that respects their preferences and individuality.
He is a compassionate, patient, and highly organized individual working in professional caregiving and nonmedical companionship. He is deeply passionate about helping others maintain their independence and quality of life, including the emotional well-being of seniors or individuals with disabilities. He brings a strong background in creating a safe and comforting environment, while actively listening and engaging with his clients based on their needs. He’s also provided household management support and driving clients to appointments, when required.
Earlier in his life, Phillip discovered that patience, conversation, and small shared moments can truly brighten someone's day—and his own too. Whether it's laughing over a card game, reminiscing through photo albums, solving puzzles together, or taking a gentle walk in the park, these moments matter. He has seen how music can bring back memories, how simple activities can spark connection, and how companionship can ease loneliness in ways that are hard to put into words.
His experience includes providing homecare to his elderly parents, volunteering as a companion to residents of Care Centers; provided companionship as a sub-contractor to a client who resided at Care West, focusing on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness; served as a companion to a 90-year-old gentleman with dementia; and most recently as a sub-contractor provided transportation services to clients attending medical appointments.
His education and experience includes: Best Practices in Abuse Prevention & Response Protocol, Medicine Administration proficiency, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training, What Devalued People are up Against, First Aid & CPR/AED Level C and Assessment Practice in Career Development, including 15-years’ experience working with and supporting people with developmental disabilities.
Phillip is comfortable providing general household organization, basic meal preparation, pet care and driving clients within Calgary, Alberta.
